The aim of the project is to introduce energy efficiency and eco-efficiency into construction standards for the building and refurbishing of educational facilities in Peru, specified for the climatic regions of the country.

The following 4 products are being elaborated in the scope of the project implementation:

  • Product 1: Analysis of architectural options of construction for the inclusion of elements of sustainability and eco-efficiency.
  • Product 2: Development of concrete proposals for consideration and introduction of newest research results on eco-efficiency and environmentally friendly construction into the planning and investment processes regarding the construction and renovation of public schools.
  • Product 3: Improvement of policies and guidelines for building construction issued by the Ministry of Education regarding sustainable and eco-efficient construction concepts.
  • Product 4: Planning and implementation of a rehabilitation of up to 3 classrooms in 3 climatic zones (Selva, Costa and Sierra) based on eco-efficiency and comfort criteria to make the effect of well-planned and professional renovated classrooms measurable and more tangible.
