The project aims to enhance SMEs’ competitiveness and growth by fostering innovation readiness and adoption through strengthened capacities, improved access to investment, and a more collaborative and interconnected ecosystem that delivers high-quality services and innovation inputs in Jordan.
Project contains 4 Work Packages (WPs):
WP 1: Coordination, Planning and M&E
WP 2: Awareness raising and learning on innovation
WP 3: Targeted capacity development for innovation knowhow and uptake at firm level
WP 4: Cooperation and sustainability in the innovation ecosystem
Experts' Profiles:
1. Expert 1: Team Leader
Main tasks: Overall management of WPs implementation and funds, coordination with GIZ and all stakeholders
General and specific professional experience:
- University degree, Masters ( or "Diplom") in Economics, Business Administration, Social Sciences or closely related subjects
- C1 - level English of proficiency
- 12 years of general professional experience in the fields of innovation-enhancing Private Sector Development
- 8 years of general professional international experience
- 2 years of experience in MENA region
- 5 years of specific work experience in industrial SME development with an explicit focus on innovation
- 3 years of specific work experience in innovative ecosystems building or linkages between academic and private sector
- 5 years of professional management experience
- 4 years of experience in development cooperation projects
2. Expert 2: Key Expert
Main tasks: Private Sector Development and Innovation expert with national expertise (co-lead with Expert 3- delivery of WP 2, lead- delivery of WP3, and close technical collaboration with I-PSD technical team)
General professional experience:
- University degree, Masters ( or "Diplom") in Economics, Business Administration, International Development, or a related field
- C1 - level English of proficiency & C2 - level Arabic knowledge
- 10 years of general professional experience in private sector development or business consulting
Specific professional experience:
- 5 years of professional experience working with SMEs on growth strategies, competitiveness, innovation
- 8 years of regional experience in MENA region (of which 4 specifically in Jordan)
- 2 years of experience in development cooperation projects
3. Expert 3: Cooperation and Innovation Key Expert (with national expertise)
Main Tasks: Co-lead with Expert 2-delivery of WP2, lead delivery of WP4, technical lead M&E activities in all WPs
General professional experience:
- Education: Master's degree (or "Diplom") in Innovation Management or a related field
- C1 – level English proficiency and C2 – level Arabic knowledge
- 10 years of professional in Private Sector Development or Business Consulting
Specific professional experience:
- 5 years of professional experience in programs supporting the takeup of innovative technologies/technology transfer projects
- 8 years of regional experience in MENA region ( of which 4 years specifically in Jordan)
- 2 years of experience in Development Cooperation Projects
- R&D collaborations with the Private Sector
4. Expert 4: Special Topic Experts for Global Best Practices
Description: Global best practices including Innovative Curriculum Design, Training, Advising, R&D Framework Development, and Innovation Ecosystem and Sustainable Service Development
General professional experience:
- All with Education: Master's degree (or "Diplom") in Economics, innovation management, Engineering, Creative Industries, Education, or a related field
- All with C1 – level English proficiency
- All with 12 years of professional in Private Sector Development, Innovation and Research
- All with 12 years of experience in one of prioritized growth sectors
Specific professional experience:
- 10 years of professional experience in Capacity Building and Curriculum Development-Innovation for Industries
- 10 years professional experience in Organisational and Business Development
- 10 years professional experience in the field of Industry
- 10 years professional experience outside of Jordan
