The project aims to increase the competitiveness of the Ukrainian economy by creating modern VET infrastructures that attract students to VET education and provide the foundation for an effective, demand driven education that equips students with relevant skills for Ukrainian labour market.
The overall objective of the project is to transform two existing VET schools that were jointly determined by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (MoES), Project Executing Agency (PEA) and KfW into Centres of Excellence (CoEs) which offer high quality, practice-oriented vocational training that is relevant to the labour market and thus improve the employability of graduates.
To achieve the project objectives, the following outputs are to be delivered: (i) Modernise the CoE buildings in and energy-efficient fashion; (ii) equip the supported schools with modern, needs-based and labour market-relevant equipment and trained staff; (iii) enhance practice-oriented cooperations between vocational schools and local companies/employers; (iv) create an attractive barrier-free, and inclusive learning environment; (v) facilitate knowledge transfer between centres of excellence in Ukraine an selected countries of the Eastern Partnership (EaP).
The project contains Components:
Component 1: Investment Measures focuses on construction/rehabilitation, procurement (goods and services), management of disposition funds, and the construction related reporting.
Component 2: Supporting Measures focuses on capacity building including curricula development, teacher training, and school management and funding.

Assess existing equipment and determine additional need in quantity and quality

5. ESHS Expert – (continuous during assessment and technical design phase, and short-term construction supervision)
Main tasks: ESIA, ESMP, ESHS Quality Assurance
6. IT expert/MIS – (short term)
Main tasks: Assessment and development of digital infrastructure for school management

Main tasks: Planning of RE/EE measures and training –
