Vietnam: VCMI’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) building for ‘Green’ TVET gets top green buildings award

The construction of the CoE building (completed in January 2022) and the provision of the required training equipment (ongoing) are part of the “Programme Reform of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) – Centre of Excellence (CoE) for ‘Green’ TVET”, which is financed through a loan of EUR 9.1 million provided by the KfW Development Bank.

The Programme is part of the German Financial Cooperation (FC) with the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.

The purpose of the Programme is to create a CoE for Green TVET, by adhering to strict ecological and environmental standards, and to enable the VCMI to offer demand oriented vocational training focusing in the field of sustainability and green growth. The achieved green building certification will contribute to this objective.

The LOTUS Certification System is a set of voluntary market-based green building rating systems developed by the Vietnam Green Building Council (VGBC) specifically for the Vietnamese built environment.
