The aim of TVET in Georgia is to support the country's socio-economic development and poverty reduction priorities. Specifically, TVET is meant to contribute by maximising the potential of the country's human resources through the promotion of high quality vocational skills development to meet the economy's labour requirements in the immediate, medium and long term.

This project in particular supports the "Private Sector Development and Technical Vocational Education and Training Programme South Caucasus" (PSDTVET SC) in broadening the range of offered vocational subjects to the information and communication technologies (ICT) sector.

Instruments are being implemented for promoting sustainable economic development in selected sectors relevant for employment. The efforts of the ICT short-term experts are concentrated on curriculum development, training regulations and the conduct of a ToT for ICT teachers. Another strategic element is the very close cooperation with the Industry-led Skills and Workforce Development (ISWD) Project, an MCC financed project implemented by PEM CONSULT.
