The aim of the project was the matchmaking of a selected group of Maltese companies with suitable companies from Germany to discuss the possibility of entering into various types of business co-operation arrangements.
Possible co-operation arrangements:
- Facilitating market access for Maltese products to the German market;
- Facilitating German exports to the Euro-Med region (Europe, North Africa and the Middle East) via joint production, sub-contracting, manufacture under licence, reciprocal marketing, agency or distribution agreements, transfer of technology and know-how, technical or research & development assistance, or the setting-up of new export oriented joint-ventures with Malta-based companies.
The preparatory works included the detailed screening of Maltese companies and German counterparts and the preparation of a business delegation mission of Maltese managers to Germany at an advanced stage of individual exchange of company and strategy information. Recommendations for the design of future co-operation and export activities were made by the consultants.
