The aim of TVET in Georgia is to support the country's socio-economic development and poverty reduction priorities. Specifically, TVET is meant to contribute by maximising the potential of the country's human resources through the promotion of high quality vocational skills development to meet the economy's labour requirements in the immediate, medium and long term.

This project in particular supports the "Private Sector Development and Technical Vocational Education and Training Programme South Caucasus" (PSDTVET SC) in broadening the range of offered vocational subjects to the transport and logistics sector (T&L). In particular, the project aims at developing and introducing dual TVET programs and short-term training courses in the T&L sector, as it constitutes one of the priorities of the Georgian Government.

Instruments are being implemented to ensure that Georgian public and private stakeholders own modernized TVET qualification programs, among these also dual-oriented long-term programmes. The efforts of the T&L short-term experts will be concentrated on curriculum development, training regulations and the conduct of a ToT for T&L teachers. Another strategic element is the very close cooperation with the private sector.
