The project assisted pre-selected medium to large-scale enterprises from the machine-building sector located in the two eastern Slovakian provinces of Košice and Prešov in their modernisation efforts.

The project succeeded in improving the corporate performance and in supporting the enterprises in their orientation towards Western European markets. Technical assistance measures comprised in-depth consultancy regarding aspects of product quality and technology as well as specific marketing & sales instruments, and an adjustment of internal cost accounting. Corporate organisation and procedures were optimised, taking into account the ability to meet the demand of Western trade and production partners.

Furthermore, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Prešov was supported to become a strong and reliable partner for the local industry. This assistance was provided together with a German Chamber of Commerce and Industry and initiated a long-term co-operation.
