The project is part of the regional programme "Regular labour migration and mobility between North Africa and Europe", funded by the European Trust Fund (EUTF) and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the GIZ.

The objective of the project is the implementation of intensive German language courses with the aim of preparing and passing the B1 language examination. The language assessment, implementation of language courses and examinations in the three countries within the framework of the project should enable apprentices and already qualified professionals to learn the B1 level of the German language and obtain the B1 certificate. The GIZ assures in separate service contracts concluded with German employers that the apprentices hold the B1 certificate.

PEM CONSULT and EuBiA were entrusted with the language preparation in Morocco. In February 2020, the language courses for the first three groups of the cohort “apprentices” started in Fez and Casablanca, including two A1 courses and one A2 course. In September 2022 started the languages courses for the second cohort of “Skilled Workers” in Casablanca. Furthermore, PEM CONSULT and EuBiA provide intercultural competence as well as social pedagogical coaching to prepare the participants for life in Germany.
